The Iowa Comic Book Club’s annual I-CON convention will be back this Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Forte Banquet and Conference Center at 615 3rd Street in Des Moines, Iowa.  I-CON has been around for more than a decade and grows each year with more creators and guests.

Oddly enough I-CON has been one great way to access creators of favorite borg.com icons Green Arrow and the Bionic Man.  Past attendees have included Green Arrow writer/artist Mike Grell and classic Green Arrow writer Denny O’Neil, and this year two writers of the Bionic Man series are in the line-up.

Last year’s I-CON was a big success and the show developers are hoping for an even better show this year.  Many Iowa-based creators will return to I-CON this weekend, including Phil Hester (Green Arrow, The Bionic Man, Green Hornet, Wonder Woman), Ant Lucia (retro pop art prints, new DC Bombshells statue series), and Aaron Gillespie (The Bionic Man, Hell Yeah).

Also slated to attend are Scott Lobdell (Red Hood & The Outlaws, Superman, Uncanny X-Men, Daredevil), Jason Pearson (Deadpool, Suicide Squad), Zach Howard (G.I. Joe, Star Trek, Star Wars), and tons of other comic book artists and writers.

As usual, look for many sci-fi and superhero cosplay characters to be on hand, and guests are encouraged to wear their best costumes, too.

You can find the day’s schedule of events here and a list of all the featured creators here.  More information about the show can be found here.
