SDCC 2023–A Talking Mongoose… Simon Pegg gets another Comic-Con trailer

Simon Pegg, the star of Paul, the far-out sci-fi flick set at San Diego Comic-Con, got another Comic-Con trailer this past weekend.  Pegg, star of Spaced and the Abrams Star Trek movies, the Cornetto Trilogy and one of the guys in the chair in the Mission: Impossible movies, seems to have two roles he gravitates toward.  The first is that same character from Spaced, who weaved his way through the above flicks, along with his best work of all, as Shaun in Shaun of the Dead.  Then there are the other Pegg, roles… those quirky oddballs, his characters in Ready Player One and A Fantastic Fear of Everything.  As the title character in Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose, he looks to be going for the latter.

It’s a trailer that may have you asking, “What the heck was that?”  Check out Pegg in this trailer for Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose:

Talking animals?  OK, we’re in.  Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose stars Pegg as Fodor, the real-life para-psychologist from the 1930s.  The story is historical fiction, and it follows Fodor as he investigated a purported talking mongoose named Gef, pronounced Jeff, when a British family finds Gef on their farm.  Definitely off-kilter, the movie c0-stars Minnie Driver and Christopher Lloyd.

Look for the movie in theaters in the U.S. September 1, along with a Prime Video release in the UK.
