Star Trek: Lower Decks star Jack Quaid and Predator tie-in movie Prey star Amber Midthunder are coming to a theater near you in the action-comedy Novocaine. Quade plays Nathan Caine, a man with a medical condition that prevents him from experiencing pain (remember Nathan Wournos in the series Haven?).
When his co-worker/new girlfriend gets kidnapped, he gets sucked into a world of thugs and murder. It looks like good casting for both Quaid and Midthunder, plus the movie’s villain is played by Jack Nicholson’s son and lookalike, Ray Nicholson. The cast also includes Spider-Man’s Jacob Batalon, Counterpart and Get Out’s Betty Gabriel, and The Daily Show’s Matt Walsh.
With no more Quaid as Boimler in Lower Decks, we’re going to need to keep up with him in movies and film. Expect Novocaine to be streaming by mid-year, probably on Paramount+. It’s in theaters now.
