Every new concept unveiled in the trailer for the Glasgow Film Festival 2025 entry Tornado just screams “Take my money!” A woman Samurai warrior revenge story with Tim Roth as the bad guy? With only a few glimpses at this movie’s cinematography, the cold, bloody violence, and 21-year-old Japanese actress Mitsuki Kimura aka Kōki in the lead role, you’d swear Quentin Tarantino was the ghost creator on this project. When a traveling Samurai show runs into a lawless gang in 1790s Britain, a young warrior rises to the occasion. With Willow’s Joanne Whalley as Crawford and Snake Eyes and Captain America: Brave New World’s Takehiro Hira as Tornado’s father, from Scottish director John Mclean, check out this nicely dark and moody trailer for Tornado:
Kōki sure conjures Jessica Henwick in Iron Fist.

Tornado opens in theaters in the UK June 13, 2025. It does not yet have a U.S. release date.
