While you, me, he, her, them, and we are waiting for Bruce Campbell to launch a reboot of The Rockford Files (if you say it out loud enough times, it might just come true), you get to see Campbell’s image as Ash Williams–our favorite cyborg horror hero–teaming up with everyone’s favorite freckled teenager Archie Andrews in a new comic book crossover series with the laughs and tone of the great Ash vs. Evil Dead television series. Get ready for Archie x The Army of Darkness, written by Eric Burnham (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters) and artist Bill Galvan (Archie, Guardians of the Galaxy). Killing Deadites in Riverdale? The Necronomicon is back, and Ash must fix what Archie inadvertently unleashes.
The story is drawn like classic, vintage Archie, not a new entry in the Afterlife with Archie style, although some of that arrives in the cover interpretations.
Several variant covers are available for this series, from Galvan and artists Robert Hack, Laura Braga, Arthur Suydam, Craig Cermak, and Stuart Sayger. The premiere issue can also be acquired as part of a Mystery/Blind Bag that contains three limited editions of the issue selected randomly from a range of variant covers exclusive to the bag, including two original covers by Galvan and the great Francesco Francavilla, as well as multiple line art variants and colored blanks.
