Vancouver-based artist Camilla d’Errico is bringing her trademark pop realism style to another project. Known for her painted comic book art, designs, and commercial projects for Disney, Dark Horse, Image, Hot Topic, Hasbro, and more, her next project is a follow-up to her last coloring book featuring pop manga characters, Pop Manga Beauties and Beasties Coloring Book (reviewed here at borg). The Pop Manga Paint and Ink Coloring Book is perfect for using paint, marker or watercolors, featuring paper especially selected for these media. It’s available for pre-order now here at Amazon, and it’s sure to appeal to kids of all ages.
We have a look the inside the book for borg readers, courtesy of the publisher.
With your own crayons, paint, or markers, you can bring to life 24 of d’Errico’s black and white sketches of manga-inspired characters, including all kinds of cute baby animal creations, magical beings, and manga kids interracting with fantasy characters. As with her past books, kids of-a-certain-age will find the designs reminiscent of the Serendipity book series from the 1970s by Stephen Cosgrove and Robin James.
Here are some pages from the book:
