The Greatest Hits–Lucy Boynton stars in romance drama with sci-fi time travel twist

Casting Lucy Boynton as the star of the coming Hulu movie The Greatest Hits is very much on brand for the successful actress who isn’t quite a household name… yet.  Boynton co-starred as Freddie Mercury’s wife Mary Austin in the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody.  Before she starred in the brilliant Agatha Christie adaptations Murder on the Orient Express and Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? and played the strange villain of The Pale Blue Eye, she starred in the coming-of-age sleeper hit Sing Street.  Going from Sing Street to Bohemian Rhapsody to playing a woman transported back to her dead boyfriend via LP vinyl records seems like Boynton is coming full circle.

But how dreary is this next time travel tale going to be?  Will it be another Ghost or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or can it capture something interesting, like the time shifts of Happy Death Day or even Tru Calling, or even better, the classic romance fantasy Portrait of Jennie?  Hulu subscribers will find out next month.

Take a look at this trailer for The Greatest Hits:

A South by Southwest premiere film from Searchlight Pictures, look for The Greatest Hits beginning April 12, 2024, on Hulu.
