After Paramount+ unceremoniously dropped its new animated series Star Trek Prodigy after its first season last year, Netflix has picked up the show and is releasing all 20 episodes for the second season July 1. So look forward to more of the Star Trek Voyager reunion with Kate Mulgrew as Janeway, more Robert Beltran as Chakotay, and more Robert Picardo as the EMH.
Plus Ella Purnell returns as Gwyn, Jimmi Simpson is Drednok, and John Noble is the Diviner. The story will follow the young crew as they join actual Admiral Janeway on a mission to find a lost starship crew.
Kate Mulgrew has stated on social media she hopes Star Trek fans support the series on Netflix to encourage ordering more seasons. Netflix has the option to continue the series, but that will depend on the show’s success on that platform.
