Isn’t it about time writer-director Gareth Evans gets a mainstream hit? His films have been part Assault on Precinct 13, part Attack the Block, and all a showcase of the skill of world-famous martial artists. So successful on the film festival circuit was director Gareth Evans’ 2011 surprise hit The Raid (renamed The Raid: Redemption in the U.S.) that breakout star Iko Uwais and Evans returned for a sequel, The Raid 2, in 2014. Fans of his unique brand of action will be happy to see Evans showcase Venom star Tom Hardy this April in a similar-looking action movie, Havoc. And it’s coming straight to Netflix.
Blood and violence and martial arts action in a dark crime world of corruption and murder. The movie co-stars Jessie Mei Li, Justin Cornwell, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Michelle Waterson, Sunny Pang, Jim Caesar, Xelia Mendes-Jones with Yeo Yann Yann, Timothy Olyphant, and Forest Whitaker.
Here’s the first trailer for Havoc:
Look for Havoc streaming on Netflix beginning April 25, 2025.
