The second big look at the next season of Doctor Who is here, and it looks fantastic. BAFTA Award-winning actor Ncuti Gatwa is a natural who snatched up the role of the Doctor and hit the ground running, not missing a beat stepping into the Doctor’s shoes. The second trailer for his second season looks like Disney upped the ante for the series, making every scene look like it was shot for a theatrical release, from historical costumes and environments to great futuristic spacesuits and strange new worlds. Millie Gibson is back at least briefly in the trailer as Ruby, but she’s also handing companion duties over to Varada Sethu (Annika, Andor, Jurassic World: Dominion) as Belinda Chandra.
Joining the Doctor and “the Nurse” will be Anita Dobson, Bonnie Langford, Jemma Redgrave, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Christopher Chung, Evelyn Miller, Ariyon Bakare, Julie Dray, and Jonah Hauer-King, along with Alan Cumming as the voice of the new antagonist Mr. Ring-a-Ding, a cartoon you’ll see in the trailer. Doctor Who fans have some exciting sci-fi and fantasy to look forward to in Year #62. Look for the first episode of the year in the UK on BBC iPlayer and BBC One, simulcast on April 12 in the U.S. and elsewhere on Disney+.
