Gimmicky comedy movies starring yesterday’s recognizable comedians usually don’t do well at the box office. But Tom Haverford–actually Parks and Recreation co-star Aziz Ansari who starred as the trendy player Tom Haverford–starring as a struggling everyman who encounters an angel played by Keanu Reeves in a movie he also wrote and directed? That sounds like something worth checking out. The angel looks like today’s update to John Travolta’s angel in Michael, and Seth Rogen looks like he may play his character, who swaps with Ansari’s Freaky Friday style, a little less Seth Rogen-y than usual.
Good Fortune stars Ansari, Reeves, and Rogen along with Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer. It looks like a 21st century It’s a Wonderful Life with Keanu as Clarence. Here’s the trailer for Good Fortune:
