Two of the funniest, laugh-out-loud movies of the past decade were Juamnji movies. The first (ignoring the 1990s version) was 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle a brilliant, gut-busting, adventure and rollercoaster ride. It was followed two years later by Jumanji: The Next Level, simply the best adventure, fantasy, or comedy in theaters in 2019. The film series follows four teenagers who get sucked into a video game and emerge in the roles of Dr. Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson), Franklin “Mouse-not-Moose” Finbar (Kevin Hart), Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan), and Professor Shelly Oberon (Jack Black). Missing the onslaught of Comic-Con trailers by only a few days, we now have our first look at the third movie in the series, Jumanji: Open World. Director Jake Kasdan and writers Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg return what looks like a story just as hilarious as before, this time another swap of characters and roles by the main cast. Danny DeVito is back, along with Rhys Darby, Bebe Neuwirth, Awkwafina, Nick Jonas, and the original teens who still look pretty youthful, including Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, plus Lamorne Morris, Marin Hinkle, Tony Curran, and Burn Gorman.
