Latest Robin Hood series stars Sean Bean as Sheriff of Nottingham

It’s only been 15 years since TV audiences saw the last series about British folk hero Robin Hood.  The next is coming to MGM+ in November.  The only recognizable star, Sean Bean, plays the legendary villain the Sheriff of Nottingham. In the first trailer for Robin Hood, a ten-episode series, you’ll find a straight-forward drama with familiar themes that looks like a cross between the Vikings TV series and a CW teen romance.  Newcomer Jack Patten plays the title character with Lauren McQueen as Maid Marian and Connie Nielsen as Eleanor of Aquitaine.  You won’t find a lot of rollicking adventure and action in this preview from MGM+, where the series will be streaming.  This looks to be more of a young romance.

Take a look at the new streaming series Robin Hood:

Errol Flynn, Sean Connery, Kevin Costner, Patrick Stewart, Cary Elwes, Russell Crowe, Taron Egerton, Jonas Armstrong… and that’s only a short list.  Patten joins a legion of actors who have played the man who robs from the rich to give to the poor.

Look for a two-episode premiere November 2, 2025, on MGM+.
