Celebrities to attend Planet Comicon Kansas City this weekend

Planet Comicon Kansas City has been one of the Midwest’s biggest comic book and pop culture conventions and that was no less so in 2014 when it became the largest attended event in the history of the Kansas City Convention Center.  And it’s only gotten bigger.  This year the event is celebrating 27 years since its first show in 1999.  Leading things off from the slate of celebrity guests are The Lord of the Rings stars Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, and returning guest John Rhys-DaviesLongmire star Lou Diamond Philips, James Bond series and X-Men series actress Famke Janssen, Star Trek veterans Jason Isaacs and Jeffrey Combs.  Attendees can meet Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki, Samantha Smith, and Mark Pellegrino, The Fog stars Maggie Grace and Tom Welling, and returning to Planet Comicon is cinema legend Keith David (They Live, The Thing, The Lowdown, Duster).  After just celebrating his 95th birthday, back again is Star Trek legend and astronaut William Shatner.

Cinema stars Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Priscilla Presley (The Naked Gun), Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate), Carl Lumbly (Captain America: Brave New World), Garrett Hedland (Tron: Legacy), Richard Horvitz (Summer School), Kiefer Sutherland (The Lost Boys), Alex Winter (Bill & Ted’s franchise), and Lorraine Bracco (Goodfellas) are scheduled to be signing autographs and taking photographs with fans.  Twilight fans can see a reunion of actors Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, and Kellan Lutz, along with Maggie Grace.  Plus celebrity guests include astronaut Dan Tani, actors from classic TV series, voice actors from favorite animated series including Hazbin Hotel, and many more.

Of course some of the biggest names and most popular author and artist creators are also in the line-up for this year’s show.  Come back tomorrow to hear about writer, artist, and other guests scheduled to attend the event.  It all takes place this weekend beginning Friday at Kansas City’s convention center at Bartle Hall, March 27-29, 2026.

There’s something for every fandom and genre, fanboy and fangirl at this year’s show.  Check the Planet Comicon Kansas City website here for info about even more guests slated to attend, including several voice actors, cosplayers, and lots more.  Follow the website for late additions and cancellations.  Note: Not all guests will be attending the event each day of the show, so check the website for details.

It’s almost here: Planet Comicon Kansas City is March 27, 28, and 29, 2026, in downtown Kansas City at the Kansas City Convention Center.  Tickets are still available for each day, including photo opportunities and autographs.
