Beacon 23–New sci-fi series stars Lena Headey and Stephan James

Small cast, a futuristic set, and elements of a closed-room mystery. Those are the pieces of Beacon 23, coming together next month. The first three episodes of the next sci-fi series arrive on day one on cable/streaming channel MGM+. Lena Headey (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dredd) returns to the sci-fi genre, partnering with Stephan James (21 Bridges, Selma) as starfarers on a deep space lighthouse for wayward ships–an outpost that breaks down.

The series hails from Zak Penn, the writer on Ready Player One, Last Action Hero, PCU, Behind Enemy Lines, X2, The Avengers, and Free Guy. The first trailer has the vibe of the Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt movie, Passengers. Check out the trailer for Beacon 23:
