1990s Nickelodeon comedy classic Good Burger gets a sequel 25 years later

Can you think of a goofier teen comedy from the 1990s than the Nickelodeon movie Good Burger The 1997 release was the brand of funny where it didn’t matter that the plot was razor thin–it was the chemistry of the leads that stole the show: Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show All That’s teen stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell.  Kenan played Dex, a daft kid who must take on a summer job flipping burgers to pay for his teacher’s car after a wreck.  There he meets Ed, played by Kel, whose level of dimwittedness made Dex look like a genius–something many a food service worker has no doubt experienced across the decades.

Paramount+ is delivering the sequel 25 years later with Good Burger 2 coming your way later this month.  So what have these two been up to, and what kind of comedy will Kenan bring us now that he’s been the longest-ever featured Prime Time Player, making us laugh for the past 20 years on Saturday Night Live, and Kel has been nonstop bringing his comedy to TV shows and animated series?

Flash back to the era that brought us Marc Summers’ Double Dare and embrace all the throwback, obnoxious, gross-out nostalgia in this trailer for Good Burger 2:

Look for Good Burger 2 in time for Thanksgiving, arriving on Paramount+ November 22, 2023.
