Upgraded–Camila Mendes leads genre cast in new Prime Video movie

Next month Riverdale star Camila Mendes is getting her first big starring feature role, opposite some familiar genre actors in Prime Video’s new romantic comedy Upgraded. It looks a lot like the plot of The Devil Wears Prada, which starred Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. This doesn’t look like it’s as big a production, but it does bring in Academy Award-winning actress Marisa Tomei in the dreaded boss role–her character looks like she was based on Edna “no capes” Mode from The Incredibles. Other genre actors included Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Anthony Stewart Head and Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson.
