ThunderCats Lost–New spin-off introduces two new warriors and new villain

Last year’s successful reboot of the 1980s animated series ThunderCats saw the return of Tygra, Panthro, WileyKat, Cheetara, and Lion-O–anthropomorphic, bipedal, feline heroes–in a book full of action, an expansion and update to the show that built a legion of fans.  It was followed by a spin-off featuring the lightning fast warrior Cheetara (discussed here).  Dynamite Entertainment’s next series looks to the later episodes of the show.  It’s re-assembling Thunderians Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O, plus two new warriors and a new nemesis called Scorpius into ThunderCats: Lost, a comic book monthly series written by Ed Brisson with interior artwork by Rapha Lobosco.

As with the previous ThunderCats comics titles, look forward to several cover options, from artists Mark Bagley, Clayton Henry, Meghan Hetrick, Jae Lee & June Chung, Felipe Massafera, and Declan Shalvey.  Take a peek below at covers from the first two issues of the series and a first look at the new Thunderians.

Here are character studies for the new characters Ligon and Neko:

Here is the summary from the publisher:

A team of soldiers is trapped behind enemy lines, but who is the enemy?  After being shot down in the middle of a war zone, five Thunderian warriors are fighting for their lives.  Together they face a horde of heavily armored soldiers, and the team’s only hope is to somehow break through their lines to reach the wreckage of their ship.  Such overwhelming odds will strain their abilities to the absolute limit.  But even if Pumyra, Lynx-O, Shen, Ligon, and their hammer-wielding commander Bengali make it out alive, will they still be able to complete their mission?  And even more important: who is the mysterious antagonist who is hunting them – and what is his connection to the Book of Omens?

Add ThunderCats: Lost to your pull list at Elite Comics or your local comic shop now.  Issue #1 is slated to ship to stores in March.
