As unlikely sequels go, you must add The Accountant 2 to your list. We heard about this when developing our preview of the movies and TV series coming in 2025, but we wouldn’t have bet on this looking so good. Although the original was rightly criticized for its unreal portrayal of autism, star Ben Affleck seemed quite adept for the role of an autistic forensic accountant for criminal organizations, more than some of his other roles. With his brother a mercenary played by Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as a Treasury department investigator, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) as a junior investigator, the movie had all the hallmarks of a good action movie. Add in Cowboy Bebop’s Daniella Pineda as the villain against those guys in its sequel, and The Accountant 2 looks like a winner.

It can’t be a crime show without a murder board:

Look for The Accountant 2 in theaters April 25, 2025. It’s from MGM Amazon Studios so look for it streaming on Prime Video later this year.
