First Solomon Kane series in 15 years begins this week

Many fans of Conan the Barbarian will be familiar with an earlier character by its creator, writer Robert E. Howard.  Solomon Kane is his 17th-18th century character found in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, which introduced readers to Conan in the story “Red Nails.”  Solomon Kane starred in Marvel Comics from the 1970s through into the 1990s and again in a short run from 2008 to 2009.  He was also featured in a 2009 movie starring James Purefoy.  And this week he is back in his first comics story in 15 years, Solomon Kane: The Serpent Ring from Titan Comics, a limited series by writer-artist Patrick Zircher.  Kane battles in the Barbary Coast, roving across Southern Europe to the canals of Venice as a band of rogues form around him in a quest for the fabled “Serpent Ring of Set.”
