As if!  Yes, 1990s icon Alicia Silverstone is the latest pop culture star to lead her own “cozy mystery” series.   She joins Lucy Lawless (My Life is Murder), Amanda Seyfried (Long Bright River), and Lea Thompson (Jane Doe) with her own weekly mystery, Irish Blood, to air exclusively on British streamer Acorn TV.  She plays an American divorce lawyer who travels to Ireland to discover her past and track down her estranged father.  The cast includes Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle), Wendy Crewson (The Santa Clause), Leonardo Taiwo (Andor), and Ruth Codd (The Midnight Club).

The first trailer looks like it’s a mix of humor and detective work as Silverstone’s character begins to connect with locals as she arrives in Dublin.  Here’s the trailer for Irish Blood:

Look for Irish Blood streaming on Acorn TV beginning August 11, 2025.  New episodes arrive Mondays this summer, with six episodes for the first season.
