Supernatural returns with new Winchester brothers stories

Review by C.J. Bunce

In a turn not seen since the Winchester brothers teamed up with the Scooby Gang on an animated episode back in 2018, Supernatural is back as a comic book series.  That’s right, the intrepid Winchester brothers take a bold step into the paranormal realms in what will be the fifth comic book featuring the CW characters, and the first issue is in comic shops now.

The Impala.  The Colt.  Ruby’s knife.  Castiel.  Probably no other long-surviving television series delivered for its fan base as much and for so long as SupernaturalAfter concluding with its fifteenth season in 2020, only 14 scripted series in the history of TV have lasted longer.  So can they keep up the momentum without the actual Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles?  Don’t worry, there’s a photo cover variant.  Check out a preview below of the first issue of Supernatural and four cover options, all published with cardstock covers.

The series is written by Greg Pak with art by Eder Messias.  Did the bottling company worker die of human spontaneous combustion, or was it something even darker?  And no, the Impala is not here this time, at least in the first issue. Look forward to monster-of-the-week episodes as the Winchesters go hunting again.

Add Supernatural to your pull list now at Elite Comics or your local comic shop.  Or grab a copy here at Amazon.  The first issue is in stores now.
