It was originally titled Blazing Samurai.  Directors Rob Minkoff and Mark Koetsier are bringing Mel Brooks’ classic Western comedy into a goofy fun animated film featuring–that’s right–a samurai.  Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank (why not stick with Blazing Samurai?!?) is heading to theaters this summer, featuring a slate of voice actors including Samuel L. Jackson, George Takei, Ricky Gervais, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh, Michael Cera, and Mel Brooks.  A hard-on-his-luck hound named Hank (Cera) finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero to defend them from a ruthless villain (Gervais) plotting to wipe their village off the map.  Sounds like Seven Samurai and its remake The Magnificent Seven, right?

Other voice actors include Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Kylie Kuioka, and Cathy Shim.  Note:  This is not related to the Paws of Fury 1990s video game.

Get ready for the goofy fun of Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, coming to theaters July 15, 2022.
