Road House–Jake Gyllenhaal plays tough guy in unlikely remake

Jake Gyllenhaal as a tough guy? Prime Video viewers will be able to see if that works later this month when Road House makes its way to streaming after a brief festival release run. Donnie Darko as Dalton, the role the late Patrick Swayze made famous in the 1989 original film, seems like a shift for the actor. The trailer may have more of a Cocktail vibe than Jack Reacher, yet Gyllenhaal has made a name for himself taking on unexpected roles before. Roles in movies like Brokeback Mountain, Zodiac, Source Code, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
