Companies are always trying to get you to buy more product, and exclusives are just one of those ways. Whether it’s Topps trading cards dropping a 1:1 variant in a pack of cards or “blind box” offerings from your favorite franchise, you never know when you will get tomorrow’s sought-after collectible. Action figure company Super7 frequently brings new collectibles to San Diego Comic-Con, and later this month that includes one of its first “chase figure” variants. For the 1971 movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, loosely based on Roald Dahl’s children’s books, Super7 has released a Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka action figure–it’s available now here at Entertainment Earth and here at Amazon (you can also get Charlie, Varuca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Violet, and Mike).

But somehow the sculpt for Gene Wilder looks even better in a coming SDCC 2024 exclusive. That’s a chocolate brown edition of the action figure of Willy. It’s being released in a blind box format at SDCC 2024 only, giving you a one in 200 chance to get a golden Willy Wonka figure, which will be accompanied by a golden ticket.

Unfortunately that golden ticket doesn’t seem to get you in anywhere–it could have been a great way to get fans a Comic-Con ticket–certainly a lost opportunity there. Super7 reportedly is only making 200 golden figures, so buyers will have a one in eight chance of getting the golden exclusive. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory saw its 50th anniversary in 2021.
This is only the latest in Super7’s ReAction action figure line of Kenner-inspired 3.75″ figures with five points of articulation, ready to ride in your 1970s vintage Landspeeder or discuss pleasantries with Yoda via your 1980s Dagobah playset.
Here is the full line of the standard figures available at Entertainment Earth now (sorry, no ticket in these):

The company reports the exclusive chocolate variants with the possibility of the golden chase figure will be available at Super7’s Booth #2543 at Comic-Con July 24-28, 2024, with limited quantities reserved for sale at Super7.com Monday, July 29, 2024.
Super7 often has an offsite store that always has surprises for SDCC. So keep an eye out there–it’s at 701 8th Avenue–you never know if they may have some figures available at this site on a last minute basis.
San Diego Comic-Con 2024 runs from preview night on Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28, 2024.
