As Lieutenants Junior Grade Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler and the crew of the USS Cerritos are voyaging through their last season of Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek fans mourn the passing of Star Trek guest actor Tony Todd, known for many roles including the best episode of Deep Space Nine (“The Visitor”) and Worf’s Klingon brother Kurn in three episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. If you’re a fan of Kurn and the TNG Klingon episodes, make sure you check out this past week’s latest episode of Lower Decks, “A Farewell to Farms.” It is one of the best Klingon stories the franchise has ever produced, and like the rest of the show, a lot of fun. The best part of each episode for long-time fans of the show will be the Easter eggs hidden in every corner, and all kinds of throwbacks in dialogue and storytelling.

With the current animated series winding down to its series finale, fans have more than one way to keep getting their Lower Decks fix. First, two graphic novels continue the adventures of the USS Cerritos crew: The Star Trek: Lower Decks graphic novel (available here at Amazon) and the recent book Star Trek: Lower Decks–Warp Your Own Way (available here), both by writer Ryan North and artist Chris Fenoglio.

And now you’ll want to add to your comic shop pull list a new monthly series, also titled Star Trek: Lower Decks, written by Ryan North with artwork by Derek Charm. Take a look inside these comics below, courtesy of IDW Publishing.
