First trailer arrives for The Fantastic Four: First Steps

With a rocket launch countdown, Marvel Studios launched its first trailer this morning for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Phase VI of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins this summer with the fourth theatrical outing and third cast for the sci-fi superhero characters Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and The Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will lead into the big eagerly awaited team-up and crossover Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Expected at last summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, at last Disney and Marvel just unveiled its first trailer. Is it a bit disappointing to see Chris Evans replaced as Johnny Storm so soon after his appearance as the Human Torch in last year’s summer blockbuster Deadpool and Wolverine?

The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal takes on the role of Reed Richards, played previously by Ioan Gruffudd and Miles Teller. Fast & Furious’s Vanessa Kirby takes over Sue Storm from Jessica Alba and Kate Mara. Stranger Things and Overlord’s Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm, replacing Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan. And Michael Chiklis and Jamie Bell are replaced by The Punisher co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm aka The Thing. Wait no longer, here’s the first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps:
