Strange New Worlds–Star Trek amps up the nostalgia and fun in next trailer

Starting with an image straight out of the old Star Trek View-Master reel, Paramount+ is bringing Strange New Worlds Season 3 this summer with an extra dose of fun.  Instead of pulling away from the… stranger… episodes of the original series, this Star Trek is leaning into it.  Returning to the Enterprise are Anson Mount’s Captain Pike, Una actor Rebecca Romijn, Science Officer Spock actor Ethan Peck, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding as Uhura, and Paul Wesley as Kirk, along with Christina Chong as La’an, Carol Kane as Pelia, and Melanie Scrofano as Captain Batel.  And the best of the bunch is the pilot: Melissa Navia’s Ortegas, who is all things Star Trek we love in one package.

Check out this new trailer for Season 3 of Strange New Worlds:

How can we have any stakes for all these characters when we know they are going to be around the next 10 years, and we specifically know Pike’s own dark fate?  Paramount figured out how to make it work, with plenty of humor.  Look for new episodes coming this summer on Strange New Worlds, streaming on Paramount+.
