One of the first entrants into the borg Hall of Fame back in 2013, Dynomutt was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions’ Dynomutt, Dog Wonder, animated show for ABC in 1976, and you might recall seeing him featured on Scooby-Doo or in the All-Star Laff-a-Lympics, the animated parody of the Battle of the Network Stars. In a play on dynamic duos like Batman and Robin, Dynomutt was sidekick to millionaire socialite art dealer Radley Crown, whose alter ego was the superhero the Blue Falcon. Fans of the characters and Hanna-Barbera’s unique style will be happy to see that Dynomutt and the Blue Falcon are coming to the comic book pages this fall when The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt debuts from Dynamite Entertainment.
Here’s the marketing blurb for the series: Secure in their life of luxury in a penthouse high above the streets of Big City, wealthy inventor and art collector Radley Crown and his faithful canine companion have enjoyed a charmed existence. That all changes one fateful day when a vicious gang shatters their complacency. From this tragedy will rise two of the most impressive and vigilant superheroes. In the aftermath, Crown puts to work his inimitable technical abilities to rebuild himself and his four-legged friend into unrivaled instruments of retribution — The Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, Dog Wonder!
