Dust Bunny — The Professional meets The Black Phone and True Grit?

Bryan Fuller, writer, creator, and developer of series from Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Voyager to Star Trek Discovery, and genre-bending classics Wonderfalls and Heroes has directed his first movie, a horror thriller called Dust Bunny The first trailer looks like it may tap into themes from both The Black Phone — it’s a story about a 10-year-old girl who sees monsters under her bed (hence the title) and Luc Besson’s The Professional — it teams ex-Bond villain actor Mads Mikkelsen as the hitman next door with young actress Sophie Sloan as the girl who sees ghosts, all to figure out what happened to her parents.  She says the monsters ate them, and she’s willing to pay the hitman to help, True Grit-style.

Marketed as a family horror film, it co-stars Sigourney Weaver and David Dastmalchian.  The camera angles, lighting, colors, and style all scream comic book movie, like Sin City or maybe Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow or Alice in Wonderland.  Fuller also wrote the story.  So how do you think it will all play out?
