First look — Nicolas Cage plays John Madden in biopic

In a role Will Farrell had been considered for, Nicolas Cage was cast as the infamous pro football coach and commentator John Madden, and the result is coming to Prime Video next fall. Directed by David O. Russell, the loud-talking Madden is getting a legit look at his life, including the development of the popular Madden NFK video game in the movie Madden. Cage stars with Christian Bale as Al Davis, Sienna Miller as Al’s wife, Kathryn Hahn as Madden’s wife Virginia, John Mulaney as Trip Hawkins, and Joel Murray (one of Bill’s actor brothers) as Pat Summerall–which must have prompted a fun dialogue between the sports fan Murray brothers.

But in the first teaser trailer for the movie, it’s obvious Cage was the right choice, since Madden and Cage are pretty much equals in reflecting all things over the top. See for yourself–check out this first trailer for Madden:
