In the Grey — Guy Ritchie returns to his tropes

Guy Ritchie’s next movie seems to be Ritchie leaning on the tropes he puts into all of his projects.  In the Grey looks stylish and fun.  It’s another story of a small team of criminal masterminds.  And it’s full of twists and turns–and action thriller with style and humor.  Ritchie has earned the right to grab our attention with each new project, delivering one of TV’s best series, The Gentlemen, and he returned last year with MobLand, after his success with the movie version of The Gentlemen, and this year added to his repertoire of Holmes & Watson movie adaptations, Young Sherlock.  But In the Grey looks almost like a sequel to his cool spy movie The Man from U.N.C.L.E.  Led by Eiza González, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill, this looks like Ritchie’s twist on Leverage, where sometimes bad guys make the best good guys.

With Rosamund Pike and Fisher Stevens, check out this trailer for In the Grey:

In the Grey comes to theaters May 15, 2026.
