HBO Max delivered its final trailer for Lanterns at Comic-Con 2026, its series apparently trying to replicate the success of Marvel Studios’ Logan, which depicted a cranky Old Man Wolverine.  This time it’s Cranky Old Man Hal Jordan, schooling a younger John Stewart in the ways of intergalactic police work as one of the many Green Lanterns.  The ubiquitous Kyle Chandler plays Hal with Rebel Ridge’s Aaron Pierre as John.  The best bit may be the supporting cast, which includes Garret Dillahunt and Kelly Macdonald, with Jason Ritter and Nathan Fillion.

Fans of Hal going back to Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams’ original days of the characters have been waiting for someone to put these guys on the screen for literally decades.  But why a cranky Hal?
