Warped Phrases — A new Star Trek party game

Ten Speed Press is continuing the celebration of 60 years of Star Trek this month with the new party game Star Trek: Warped Phrases, available now here at Amazon.  Like this summer’s trivia card game Star Trek: The Ultimate Trivia Deck, reviewed here, it’s another way to let your Trekkie flag fly at your next gathering of friends.  Star Trek: Warped Phrases is like playing Mad Libs–one player draws a card and reads the sentence, which includes a blank, and the rest of the players use one of their five cards to select the funniest answer.

The box includes 350 cards in all, 100 question cards and 250 answer cards with a potential answer on the front and the reverse.

References span the original 1960s series, The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, Enterprise, Discovery, Short Treks, Picard, Strange New Worlds, Prodigy, Section 31, Lower Decks, or the Kirk crew and Picard crew movies.

Sample questions include:

  • Who or what is responsible for compromising life support systems?
  • We are _____.  Lower your shields and prepare to be boarded.
  • Your ticket out of the Klingon penal colony Rura Penthe: _____

Sample answers include:

  • Day drinking at Château Picard
  • Reversing the polarity
  • Yelling “Khaaaaaaaaaan!!!” at the top of your lungs
  • Hundreds of tribble-sized Gorn
  • One Gorn-sized tribble

Designed by Robb Pearlman, the game is intended to be played over and over. Plus the game’s convenient box allows you to take it along with you.  The bright orange cards match the color of the panels, door, and rails on the Enterprise bridge from the original series.

Try it out at your next Halloween party.  It’s for players of all ages and fans of all levels of interest, to lean into your Star Trek fandom for the 60th anniversary.  Order one for yourself or your favorite Trekker or Trekkie.  Star Trek: Warped Phrases is available now here at Amazon, from publisher Clarkson Potter.
