Orphan Black cast members reprise characters for table read Sunday

The sestras are returning.  BBC America’s sci-fi drama Orphan Black ran five seasons, wrapping in 2017, but the key cast members and creators will be back Sunday, this time online for a table read of two episodes of the series.  Tatiana Maslany, who earned an Emmy for her role as several clones, is leading the effort, along with actors Maria Doyle Kennedy, Jordan Gavaris, Kristian Bruun, Kevin Hanchard, Dylan Bruce, Evelyne Brochu, and more.  Based on the episodes selected, expect some great scenes with fan-favorite couples Donnie and Alison and Delphine and Cosima.  And it’s all to raise money for charity.

Table reads are typically done by actors with writers, directors, and select production staff as an early step in rehearsing for an episode.  Orphan Black′s table read is one of several happening this month in light of so many sheltering at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The best part will be getting the chance to watch Maslany switch characters among Sarah, Cosima, Alison, and Helena–the primary characters she played in the first seasons of the series.  The episodes the cast will be revisiting are from the first season, the sixth episode “Variations Under Domestication” and the seventh episode “Parts Developed in an Unusual Manner.”

Co-creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett will also be part of the event.   Look for the Orphan Black table read beginning Sunday 2 p.m. Central, May 17, 2020, at orphanblacktv on Facebook.  Here’s an introduction from the cast:
