Just because San Diego Comic-Con 2020 was cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t mean some of the convention exclusives won’t still be available, for those who know where to look.  One of the best ideas we’ve seen from exclusives previewed so far is from Diamond Select and Entertainment Earth, and it hails from one of our favorite retro fixes: the groundbreaking 1982 sci-fi classic Tron.  What says 1982 and Tron more than a VHS clamshell?  Wait, it’s not just a clamshell…

Fans who order Entertainment Earth’s San Diego 2020 Comic-Con Previews Exclusive from Tron will get a newly designed action figure from Gentle Giant Studios housed in a VHS-style package for Diamond Select.  The colors chosen for this special edition echo Tron on the classic VHS box and promotional poster for the film:

The fun is inside: a seven-inch figure of Bruce Boxleitner’s Tron with the nostalgic twist on its paint design.  Gentle Giant boasts 16 points of articulation, five light disc options, it has a “unique reaction to black light” effect, and there’s a replica of a VHS tape inside as a panel to enclose the figure.  Learn more and pre-order the figure here at Entertainment Earth.
