Babylon 5 returns–Bruce Boxleitner leads sequel movie

After five seasons and 111 episodes and a 25-year hiatus, Babylon 5 is making a comeback this summer.  Despite the deaths of several cast members, Babylon 5: The Road Home is taking a lead from Ira Steven Behr’s Deep Space Nine playbook.  It’s doing it almost the best way possible to keep with at least the sound of the original sci-fi series–via an animated movie–coming from Warner Bros. Animation.  This is similar to Behr giving Star Trek fans a new episode of his series back in 2019, 20 years after DS9’s last episode (discussed here).  Why not?

Returning cast members voicing their characters from the series include Bruce Boxleitner, Claudia Christian, Peter Jurasik, Billy Mumy, Tracy Scoggins and Patricia Tallman.

Directed by Matt Peters and written by J. Michael Straczynski, check out this preview for Babylon 5: The Road Home:

Look for Babylon 5: The Road Home on various streaming services coming this August.

  1. I was always hoping to see Tom Baker in a cameo in one of the Star Trek movies. What is science fiction but daydreams run amok?
