Comic-Con 2024–Beetlejuice Beetlejuice looks bigger and better

Back in December here at borg we announced that director Tim Burton was bringing Michael Keaton back for a sequel to the 1988 supernatural hit comedy Beetlejuice.  Then in February, Warner Bros. teased audiences with a poster and a full title, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.  And we saw a teaser trailer in March (here).  But so far it all looked like much of the same.  Now with the BeeGees (“Tragedy”) backing it all up, the new Comic-Con 2024 trailer for the movie presents something that looks much better, and much bigger.  The plot, centering around Jenna Ortega with a very Wednesday vibe, features more than one encounter with Michael Keaton as Old Ghost Beetlejuice, along with the returning Catherine O’Hara now as Grandma Deetz, plus Winona Ryder as mom Lydia Deetz, plus lots of Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice’s wife Delores.

But there’s more: Burn Gorman (The Offer) as Father Damien, and that’s Willem Dafoe (Spider-verse) and Justin Theroux (White House Plumbers), too.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is in theaters September 6, 2024.
