Although Ethan Coen has moved ahead with wife Tricia Cooke as directing co-pilot instead of brother Joel Coen, his movies continue on with a similar quirk and style to their catalog of Oscar-winning hit films, which includes True Grit, Fargo, No Country for Old Men, Raising Arizona, and The Big Lebowski. Next in theaters is the second volume of Coen and Cooke’s throwback B-movie-inspired trilogy that began with last year’s Drive-Away Dolls. Starring the first film’s Margaret Qualley, known for the pulp noir movie The Nice Guys and sci-fi flick IO, and cast in one of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood roles for famous actors’ kids (she’s the daughter of Andie MacDowell), Honey Don’t looks like it’s Coen’s twist on Tarantino’s own throwback project Grindhouse. The movie is also the latest to cast the beloved, genre-favorite nice-guy actor Chris Evans as a vile bad guy. Aubrey Plaza and Charlie Day co-star.

Honey Don’t is slated for release in theaters this summer, August 22, 2025.
