If you know a gamer, it’s very likely you know someone who games and also knows how to crochet. Wizards of the Coast and Ten Speed Press have teamed up to create their next officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons tie-in. This time it allows your more creative gamers to make all sorts of wool plushies, wearables–and more–for decorating your desk or bringing along to game night. Dungeons & Dragons Crochet: A Book of Many Patterns, released today and available here at Amazon, includes 20 magical items sure to advance you to the next level and add some flair to your weekly game nights.

Take a look at some of the items anyone who can crochet will be able to create:

The patterns are divided into three categories: amigurimi (stuffed plush characters), wearable items (like bracers and a scarf), and household items, which include D&D themed granny squares that can be used for coasters or woven into an afghan, a cool D20 dice pillow, a dice bag, and a round coaster.

All the designs look good, and the book says it is for all skill levels. But consider that really to mean that you probably should be at least at a crochet level 3 to begin, because the book doesn’t actually tach you how to crochet. For that get a friend to teach you, get a starter book, or review some YouTube videos.

We weren’t able to give a full review of this book because it’s not easy to just pick up needles–er, a hook–and crochet! But we wanted those who do crochet to know this is now available. Tops from our perspective are the fabulously vivid Beholder and the nicely creepy Hand of Vecna, and everyone will be wanting you to make them their own Red Dragon, Owlbear Cub, and Mimic dice (chest) bag.

The book was written by Stacy King with contributions from various crochet artists.

It will make a great gift for your favorite Maker. It’s time to start a new hobby. Dungeons & Dragons Crochet: A Book of Many Patterns is available today here at Amazon from Ten Speed Press.
