Trailer Park — The Disney “D23 2026” Edition

This weekend is Disney’s annual corporate conglomerate celebration of all its properties and licenses, called D23 for Disney 1923, intended to be the first year Walt Disney opened an animation studio.  The very name itself is a misnomer, since Walt actually began and ran his first animation studio in Kansas City from 1921 to 1923.  So the corporation makes a point of saying the 23 is named for the first “California” Disney studio.  (Huh?)  For most of this century Disney was a full participant in San Diego Comic-Con, but evidently wasn’t making enough money so it started its own convention for its big reveals.  It’s strange because it also takes something away from the annual Star Wars Celebration conventions it hosts.  But that’s Disney.

We have some new movie and TV series trailers from this weekend, the best featuring Rosario Dawson in Season 2 of the Star Wars series Ahsoka, along with returning actors Hayden Christensen, David Tennant, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and you can see Chopper and Zeb in the trailer.  Then from Marvel side of the Mouse House, D23 released another Avengers: Doomsday trailer and a trailer for a series called VisionQuest featuring Paul Bettany again as the depressed former cyber-superhero Vision, with Orla Brady and James Spader.

Take a look at those and a few more trailers for some new things Disney has to offer from this year’s D23:

The downside of the trailer: Are those more gravity bombs like those used in Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

Definitely stick around for the last scene in this trailer for LEGO The Mandalorian:

Here’s the trailer for Marvel’s VisionQuest, and you’ll want to know that by Vision trilogy Disney means WandaVision, Agatha All Along, and VisionQuest:

And finally, here’s the latest dreary trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.Don’t we have enough doom and gloom in real life?

But, hey, this looks cute:

Both The Bluey Movie and Ahsoka series won’t arrive until sometime in 2027.  Star Wars: Starfighter was also mentioned at D23, but no trailer has been released yet.  It arrives in theaters in May for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, along with the original cut of the 1977 movie back for a limited release.  VisionQuest streams on Disney+ October 14, 2026.  Then Avengers: Doomsday is in theaters December 18, 2026.
