Right when we weren’t paying attention, Funko added another property to its ReAction Kenner-style retro action figure line-up.  You never know what license Funko will be after next and we couldn’t have predicted The Rocky Horror Picture Show would be in the mix.  Yet here they are.

Jaws Entertainment Earth exclusive SDCC 2015 comic-con Quint and shark

Youth is wasted on the young.

I should have this line from It’s a Wonderful Life in a frame hanging over my desk.

Case in point:  The exclusive Jaws shark and bloody Quint playset available only from Entertainment Earth in San Diego on Comic-Con weekend.

How much fun would we have had with that toy as kids?

And–wow–look at these nifty Planet of the Apes figures from NECA toys:

NECA-CC15-POTA-Bundle SDCC 2015

NECA has introduced some of our favorite lines in the past, like the retro Tron line from more than a decade ago.

San Diego Comic-Con exclusives are being announced in advance of the show in addition to what will be revealed at this year’s show with 40 exclusives this year from Entertainment Earth alone.  If you want one of them you’ll need to be at SDCC 2015, except for some, which we have links to pre-order from below.  And this year you’ll be limited to one per person for SDCC 2015 Entertainment Earth exclusives as other booths have done in the past.  So you’ll need to enlist some friendly Con-goers to buy extra for you.

Highlights include new Funko ReAction unmasked Oliver Queen and Barry Allen figures from the CW series Arrow and The Flash, as well as these:

chrome T1000 ReAction Funko Terminator 2 Entertainment Earth exclusive   exclusive T1000 chrome bullets T1000 Entertainment Earth Terminator 2

Back in February we revealed here at borg.com the latest in Funko’s more than 20 licensed films and TV series in its 2015 ReAction action figure line first discussed at borg.com here and here, and now we have images of the carded figures and sculpts for many more new figures.  We also have links to allow readers to be among the first to pre-order them all from online collectibles store Entertainment Earth.  We’re still waiting for final images for Jaws, Gremlins, Scarface, and Fight Club, but we have pre-order information plus images and links to pre-order the new ReAction line for CW’s The Flash, The Karate Kid, Disney’s Tomorrowland, and the second wave of original series Star Trek figures We shared links for the first figures in the new Star Trek original series line last month here.

Better yet, you can now pre-order two new exclusive Funko ReAction figures, available only from Entertainment Earth.  Order the two exclusive liquid chrome “metallic” T1000 Terminator 2 figures (above, top) by clicking on the above images.

Word from Funko’s blog is that Phoebe Cates is not authorizing a likeness for the Gremlins line.  Here’s the prototype from Toy Fair 2015:

This may mean both the Gremlins and Fast Times at Ridgemont High lines will be hindered by missing her key characters from these films.  Even though her figure looked nothing like the actress (as with most figures in the retro line) she apparently has some control of over not only her image but reproductions based on her characters.

Funko ReAction Jaws Toy Fair 2015

The Funko booth at Toy Fair 2015 is packed full of new action figures today.  Their ReAction and Legacy lines have taken off to the point that it’s hard to keep track of it all.  Coverage of Star Trek has been the biggest news, in addition to the four figures we previewed here at borg.com Friday, Funko revealed figures and cards for the Kirk, Scotty, the Gorn, and the Orion animal woman.  Also on display are Breaking Bad, an Al Pacino line including Taxi Driver and Scarface, Tomorrow Land, The Karate Kid, The Fifth Element, and some incredible Legacy figures for Firefly.

Jaws Quint and Brody Funko ReAction

Our first Quint sighting. We’re going to need a bigger shelf.

For those that don’t appreciate the retro-style likenesses in the ReAction line, we think you’ll be impressed with Funko’s Legacy line, which is similar to the higher end Star Wars Black series.  We think you’ll also love the Terminator 2 line, including two sculpts of Sarah Connor, the metallic T-1000, and new Arnold figures.

Fifth Element Funko ReAction Toy Fair 2015

Funko really nailed it with their choice of figures for their line for The Fifth Element.

But we think the most eagerly awaited reveal, and most talked about figures since the Funko announcement in December, is for the Jaws line.  Perched atop the display at today’s show, there’s a Brody, Hooper, and Quint, and a nicely rendered shark.

Now that’s a shark.

Star Trek original series fans, say goodbye to your bank accounts.  In advance of this weekend’s annual Toy Fair convention in New York, Funko has released images of the first four ReAction Kenner-style retro action figures in their new Star Trek line.  Today you can pre-order each of the figures from Entertainment Earth, with a projected March 2015 release.

Spock, Bones, Sulu, and Uhura and the first revealed, but we expect more to come this weekend in this and the other lines teased this past Christmas by Funko’s CEO as discussed here at borg.com.

Big Trouble in Little China Rain Thunder Lightning

Last month the CEO for Funko released a hefty list of licenses that will be getting the retro-Kenner action figure treatment this year, as reported on here and here at borg.com.  The licensed properties include the original Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jaws, Terminator 2, Aliens, The Dark Crystal, E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial, Fight Club, Gremlins, Breaking Bad, The Fifth Element, V for Vendetta, Scarface, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Big Lebowski, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The A-Team, and The Munsters, among others.

For action figure collectors, one of the most requested films for the ReAction line, especially in light of last year’s release of Escape from New York figures, was that other John Carpenter film starring Kurt Russell, the cult classic Big Trouble in Little China.

And Funko has just released final images of the figures and packaging for six figures from the film, and what great picks!  Best of all, 85-year-old, Minnesota-born, Golden Age of TV actor James Hong finally gets his own action figure, as Lo Pan!

Last week we reported on Funko CEO Brian Mariotti’s “12 Days of Christmas” daily blog posts revealing the company’s new product offerings for 2015.  This included the increasingly successful Kenner-inspired, ReAction retro action figure line, which has spread like wildfire now that the various lines are hitting the masses thanks to Barnes & Nobles carrying the products in stores.  Mariotti revealed last week that 2015 will see new action figure series for the original Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jaws, Terminator 2, The Dark Crystal, Gremlins, Breaking Bad, and Boondock Saints.

Today Mariotti revealed the rest of the licensed properties that will be turned into carded 3 3/4 inch action figures by the end of next year.  As we had hoped, one of those properties is John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China.  But now we know of twelve others.

So what are the rest?  Drumroll, please…
