With Archie Horror the publisher of 80 years of beloved Archie Comics turned Riverdale on its head, beginning with the brilliant Afterlife with Archie.  It continued in Jughead: The Hunger, Vampironica, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Chilling Adventures in Sorcery, Chilling Adventures of Salem, and this year’s Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors, and Betty: The Final Girl.  Last year saw the return of L’il Jinx, back again in Chilling Adventures of Jinx, the character pulled from the 1940s Pep Comics, and followed up in 2023 with two one-shot issues featuring Jinx: Chilling Adventures of… Jinx: A Cursed Life and Chilling Adventures of… Jinx: The Cursed Library. 

Jinx is back again this summer, this time teaming up with Danni Malloy, a character introduced nearly 35 years ago–which is recent as Archie characters go.  The new title is called Chilling Adventures Presents… Strange Science.

The title is for a one-shot, and reflects a recent trend of Archie Horror weaving an ongoing continuity of stories outside of monthlies, instead tracking characters and events across one-shot titles.

Here’s the summary from the publisher:

Danni Malloy is Jinx Holliday’s best friend, and where one goes, the other is sure to follow… even if that means through hell and back and forth through the depths of space and time.  When Danni receives a mysterious message from former friend Dilton Doiley, Danni is horrified to learn that he’s built a time machine and it’s gone terribly wrong—and now the three of them have been transported to a warped version of Riverdale, where nothing seems quite right.  It’s up to Danni to set things right and bring them back to the present day, and the hometown they know and love… and she might have to explain a thing or two to Jinx about what’s going on, too! STRANGE SCIENCE explores Danni’s personal history, time travel, and the importance of being to be true to yourself and what matters most to you. 

Magdalene Visaggio returns to Jinx to write this story, with artwork by Butch Mapa, colors by Ellie Wright, and lettering by Jack Morelli.  The main cover is by Mapa and Wright.  A variant cover will be offered, created by Skylar Patridge, also with colors by Ellie Wright, and lettering by Jack Morelli.

Look for Chilling Adventures Presents… Strange Science coming to Elite Comics and your local comic shop this year.  Chilling Adventures Presents… Strange Science is scheduled to arrive in August.
