Echo–It’s a series that has experienced several missteps in getting released. Initially figured at a full season series as discussed here at borg, it’s since been whittled down to a mini-series. Marvel chief Kevin Feige reportedly called it unreleasable before a series of reshoots resulted in a five-episode series light on visual effects. The first trailer had all the makings of a bridge between the post-Avengers Marvel of series like Hawkeye and the grittier series first aired on Netflix like Daredevil. Instead it’s being released in a quick batch, all five episodes on a single day, under a new Marvel subhead called “Marvel Spotlight.”
Here’s the latest look at Marvel’s Echo, boasting its violence, presumably to entice viewers to show-up:
It looks like more of the violence in The Punisher series. Originally slated to have more episodes and arrive beginning January 10, 2024, on both Disney+ and Hulu, it’s now arriving with only five episodes, all arriving at once January 9, 2024, on both streamers.
