The Mongoose — Another Liam Neeson action flick

Fifteen years ago it seemed like Liam Neeson was ready to wind down his acting career.  Then in 2017 he suggested he was done with action movies.  More than a dozen action movies later and he looks like he’s competing with Jason Statham and Bruce Willis in the way they churned out high-octane action movies, old age be damned–not to mention Neeson’s ability to make any project shine brighter with surprise roles in The Orville, Ted 2, Derry Girls, The Commuter, Men in Black: International, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and lead roles in Marlowe and The Naked Gun.

Our reaction?  Don’t stop!  His next action role finds the 74-year-old Academy Award-nominated actor as a man on the run in The Mongoose, co-starring Marisa Tomei, Ving Rhames, and Michael Chiklis.  Does it matter what else is going on?  He’s driving a Ford Mustang in car chases a la Bullitt.  It has Neeson on the move like a modern Smokey and the Bandit.  Here’s the trailer for The Mongoose:

At least part of the movie was filmed in gorgeous Victoria, British Columbia.  From Samuel Goldwyn Films, look for The Mongoose in theaters October 30, 2026.
