Did you hear the one about the Canadian and the Brit teaming up to make America sound good?  Apple TV has become known for some quirky content and their next movie fits the bill.  Set the the 1980s Cold War era, Mayday stars the great Academy Award-winning actor-director Kenneth Branagh playing a Russian who rescues a downed American pilot played by Ryan Reynolds.  It seems like a movie made in the 1980s or at least around the time Ben Affleck made his 1970s docudrama Argo.  There’s something brilliant about seeing Branagh play a lead action hero.  And Reynolds and his trademark glances we’ve all seen before, but what the heck–why not?
