IDW Publishing announced it will be returning to the Forgotten Realms with Dungeons & Dragons: Mindbreaker, a five-issue monthly comic book series that takes place before the events of Baldur’s Gate III, the highly-anticipated video game. IDW D&D writer Jim Zub is back, joining artist Eduardo Mello in a tale of familiar Dungeons & Dragons adventurers Krydle, Shandie, Delina, Nerys, Minsc, and Boo, as they discover that something insidious has taken root in their homeland. Dungeons & Dragons: Mindbreaker #1 will be available with multiple cover variants, including artwork by Max Dunbar (Legends of Baldur’s Gate, Infernal Tides), Max Davenport, and Celia Lowenthal.
The latest D&D graphic novel and next adventure in Baldur’s Gate arrives in comic shops and online stores in October.
In Baldur’s Gate III–the game–players gather their party together to return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power. Though each character differs in innumerable ways, one thing binds all together: a parasite planted in character’s brains. With it comes mysterious abilities, but also the looming threat of gruesome transformation into a Mind Flayer. Although early access to a limited version of the game is available now, release of the complete, final version of the game is expected in 2022.
If you’re a fan of D&D, you’ll want to add Dungeons & Dragons: Mindbreaker to your pull list now at Elite Comics, your comic book shop, or here at Amazon.
