As movie trailers go, if you’re a fan of the Fast & Furious series, it didn’t seem like it could get much bigger than the first trailer for Fast X. Fast X will be the eleventh in the franchise and tenth in the main storyline following Vin Diesel′s action hero, car driver, ex-con, family man, and three-speedway one-man circus act Dominic Toretto. Diesel returns with more flying cars and all the major players from the last film, 2021’s F9: The Fast Saga: Michelle Rodriguez′s Letty Ortiz (who already died once in the series), Jordana Brewster as Dom’s sister Mia, Tyrese Gibson as Rome Pearce, Ludacris as Tej Parker, Sung Kang as Han, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Michael Rooker as Buddy, plus Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Helen Mirren as Deckard’s mom, Charlize Theron as Cipher, and John Cena as Jakob.
But a big Indiana Jones-esque rolling ball containing a bomb?
The Fast & Furious series is the biggest all-star movie franchise of the century. Other actors in the franchise have included Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Eva Mendes, Kurt Russell, Lucas Black, Luke Evans, Djimon Hounsou, Ted Levine, and Paul Walker, who was there in the beginning, in the first, and arguably best film of the franchise, 2001’s The Fast and the Furious.
The franchise keeps adding surprise stars into the mix. This time the bad guy is Jason Momoa, but Fast X also stars Rita Moreno and Brie Larson (which leaves less than eight minutes of screen-time for each of the dozen plus lead characters).
How big can the series get?
Here’s another big trailer for Fast X:
Look for Fast X in theaters May 19, 2023.
